IT Forum 1

august 3, 7, 10

Adobe Photoshop is one monster of an application to learn and master. CompSAt dared Ateneans to reckon with the beast in its first IT Forum: The Photoshop Tutorials. Speakers from the creative and graphic design industry guided attendees through the design process using Photoshop. Three sessions (beginner, intermediate, and advanced) were held with modules adapted to different levels of expertise of Photoshop users.

Tambay Week

august 10 to 14

CompSAt members of all year levels gathered together at the org room (MVP 306) last August 10-14, 2009 for this semester'sTambay Week. It was a great opportunity for members to meet other members from other batches, bond with each other, or simply enjoy the org room. Various activities were planned for each day of the week, like playing board games, playing LAN games, and watching movies. The week ended with the much-anticipated Wii Day, where members and packages challenged each other to battles on the Nintendo Wii.

Geek Shirt Sale

august 17, 18, 20

CompSAt's first semester Geek Shirt Sale, a major sale of the remaining unsold Geek Shirts from the previous semester, was indeed a success. More than 50% of the remaining shirts were sold on the first day. The geek shirts were an instant hit not only with our fellow CompSAt members but also with the entire Ateneo community. During the last day of the sale, the Geek Shirt Sale Team decided to lower the price to 120 pesos; thus, accomplishing our main goal, which is to sell at least 75% of the shirts. The team would like to thank everyone for participating in this event and is looking forward to seeing you again in next semester's Geek Shirt Sale!

Collaborative Programming Workshop

august 17

The Collaborative Programming Workshop was held last August 17, 2009 at CTC 215 during activity hour. Participants spent one and a half hours learning how to use and manipulate Git, a software tool that assists in the coding of medium- to large-scale projects being done by several programmers at once. This workshop was a good venue for students to learn from fellow students, as well as practice use of the command prompt.
